PATENT, TRADEMARK, AND COPYRIGHT LEGAL SERVICES SCHEDULE OF ESTIMATED FEES CATEGORY COST 1.  Basic U.S. Trademark Search (Includes all fees for the search and a legal memorandum by a trademark attorney.  In a Basic Search, we spend about an hour searching for similar trademarks and then report the results to you in a two page memo.) $275     2.  Comprehensive U.S. Trademark Search (Includes our professional fees for review of the comprehensive search report and a 5-page Opinion Letter which summarizes the search results and suggests next steps.  This is the search performed by Fortune 500 companies and is the most effective means of clearing trademark rights. It is often referred to as doing your "due diligence".  The price includes our vendor's fee for the search report.) $975 3.  U.S. or International Trademark Applications (Includes professional fees to prepare and file the Application - add $325 in government filing fees per class of goods or services; expect additional $100 in government filing fees per class if you wish to file on an Intent to Use basis; click here for a list of classes) $495    (or $750 for two; -$975 for three)   4.  U.S. or International Patent Applications (Includes professional fees to prepare and file the Application; Design Application $950; Mechanical invention $3,250; Electrical, Business Method, or Software $4,250; Biotech, Chemical and complex inventions $4,850-$9,450) Expect government filing and registration fees of an additional $660 for design patents or $1300 for the others).  $950-$9450 5.  U.S. Patent Search (Includes our professional fees and our vendor's fee.  A patent search is always recommended, but is not required and may not be completely effective to clear patent rights) $995 6.  U.S. Copyright Application (Includes our professional fees to prepare and file the Application; add $35 for government filing fees) $650 7.  Responses to Office Actions (Professional fees vary depending upon the complexity  of the issues.) $250-$1950 8.  Cease and Desist Letter (Professional fees to research the issues and prepare and FedEx a cease and desist letter, or research and prepare a response to a cease and desist letter) $550 9.  Initiating Litigation   (Professional fees to research, prepare, and file a Complaint or Answer depending on the complexity of the issues, typical litigation retainer is $5,000-$7,500) $1750 10.  Office, telephone, and written consultations regarding  Patents, Trademarks, Copyrights, and other hourly legal work:   - Law Clerks/Paralegals $ 195.00 per hour - Attorneys $ 255-425.00 - Ben T.
